how to get rid of pet odors using home remedies?

Question by RiSiE H0TT STUFF[[LMA0]]: how to get rid of pet odors using home remedies?
I’ve asked this question before, however I think I need a little bit more options. Okay, I’ve tried the baking soda and salt trick and I’ve opened windows and my door . However, none of those things are working. I really want to get a steam cleaner but I don’t have the money right now. So, are there any home remedies to freshen up my home? As of now it smells so horrible! The main problem is a very strong urine smell! Please help me!

Best answer:

Answer by Sandy O
Try using white vinegar w/part water. This is suppose to get rid of the smell and keep the dog from going in the same spot. Unless it is cat urine…..from what I’ve been told, it’s almost impossible to get rid of.
I believe the ratio is 1:3 vinegar/water

Q&A: What are your tips for keeping a pet ferret as healthy as possible?

Lodging for your pets
Question by Emily Huff: What are your tips for keeping a pet ferret as healthy as possible?
I am to be getting a pet ferret soon and I understand that they are prone to illness and unfortunately terminal disease. So I was wondering some things you can do to keep a ferret as healthy as possible, and anything that may prevent sickness. Also, do you recommend buying from a pet store or home breeder? Do home breeders usually spay/neuter, and get the shots for the ferret babies?

Be as detailed as possible! I know they are a difficult pet to take care of and I want to be prepared.

Answer by Brianna!
Id recommend getting from a breeder.
They have better blood lines and you can actually tract their history down to know what diseases they may carry.
But its way easier to get from a pet store and its cheaper.
Usually breeders ferrets aren’t descended, neutered,or have their shots so you have to pay for all of that.
Most pet stores carry marshall ferrets which are healthy ferrets also.
(i have one ferret from a breeder and 2 marshall ferrets)

I would HIGHLY recommend switching them to a raw/whole prey diet.
Its way healthier than store bought kibble no matter how good people tell you the kibble is-it wont compare to raw feeding. Raw feeding prevents MANY diseases, keeps teeth cleaner, makes their coat all shiny, and builds muscle instead of fat. If you are interested in feeding your ferret raw you can e-mail me and i can give you TONS of info about it and help you switch your ferret to it.(brianna5769594@yahoo.com).

How do you keep an anole alive for at least 2 weeks?

Question by pianoman2011: How do you keep an anole alive for at least 2 weeks?
I’m in florida right now and I just caught some anoles. I plan to bring them back home to have as pets. What’s the best way to keep them alive ’till then and how should I care for them when I get them home to a permanent shelter. Please give as many details as you can.

Best answer:

Answer by Madkins007
Anoles are slighly tricky pets to keep.

Housing: Does not need to be too large, but should offer plenty of room to move around in and include several things to climb on and hide in. Also needs to provide plenty of fresh air, decent humidity, and good temps.

One solution I have seen a lot of lately is the new flexible mesh cages with a largish live plant inside.

Environment: These guys need decently high temps and humidity, Florida-like lighting and day length… AND cooler, shadier places to hide in. This can be tricky for beginners to do well- especially with the fresh air need.

Diet: Crickets are the easiest answer. The size of cricket depends on the Viagra 100mg size of the lizard. Flies and other bugs work also.

Water: Anoles lap up droplets of water. Misting the cage and plantings helps provide them water and humidity- just don’t overcool them at the same time.

Temporary housing: try something like a plastic shoe box and punch a gazillion holes in it all over. It will overheat in a minute, so be careful with where you put it. Put a good leafy branch in it and try to keep it on one end so the anole can climb around. Cut a small hole in the lid to pass food through and make a flap to cover it back up with.

Go online for more information and ideas.

Also: PLEASE consider keeping it just as a temporary pet and releasing it before you return home. Wild caught pets do poorly in captivity and the things are cheap enough that you can almost certainly buy some once you get the cage set-up right and get your homework done.

Travelling with them will be annoying (temps, food, etc.), and you’ll probably loose a few in the process.

What is the best way to eliminate pet odor from a rental home?

Question by Double B: What is the best way to eliminate pet odor from a rental home?
Hi. We just sold our house and are moving to a rental townhome. Had the carpets professionally cleaned, but there is still a smell of pet odor in one of the bedroom closets which appears to be where the previous tenants kept not only the dog food, but the litter box as well play pokies online. Any recommendations on some additional action that can be taken to reduce the slight stinch still left behind? Air puifier? Thanks

Best answer:

Answer by Tigger
An air purifier might help- But removing the effected section of carpet and padding would probably be better: It sounds like the pet problem soaked all the way through.

Good luck!

Hi there,
I can see that this is your first time breeding finches. Now in this case, there is one thing you need to do. That is RESEARCH! On yahoo answers, we can’t possibly give as much details as books and different websites. There are plenty around. So I’ll give you some recommendation on sources and info.

1. How to Look After Your Pet Birds (Mark Evans)
- This is an excellent book for all bird keepers. It focuses on mainly budgies, however it the information provided is also suitable fr Zebra Finches. Its definitely a great guide for pet birds.

2. http://www.zbirds.com/breeding.html
- This is a great website on breeding zebra finches. It answers your question if you scroll down to the bottom of the page (incubation is 14 days). I also found this website helpful.

So that’s the 2 best sources I would recommend. But once again, there’s heaps more out there. Good luck on breeding your zebra finches.
