How often do you take your dog out to potty?

Question by mich: How often do you take your dog out to potty?
My dog is newly potty trained, so not perfect yet but he is doing so great! I’m taking him outside about every 2-3 hours. He goes everytime, even if it’s just a little. I’m going back to work in a week and I’m not sure what to do now. He can’t stay outside, he is too little. So my question is to those who work and can’t be home with their dog all the time, how long can a dog wait? What do you do with your dog when you’re at work? THanks.

We have a doggy door installed, and a fenced in back yard, so he can let himself out whenever he wants while we are at work. In your case, you should find someone to let your pup out during the day, or else you will come home to accidents. I wouldn’t depend on him holding it for more than 4 hours.

Q&A: Would putting my dog in a cage make him mean?

Question by Jr.: Would putting my dog in a cage make him mean?
I have a 5-6 year un-neutered male pitbull. He’s a friendly dog but after the next door neighbors brought another pitbull into their home, and my dog started tearing up my house when I’m gone. I have a cage I would like to put him into for when I’m gone, but I’m worried because he has never been in cage before. Will doing this make him mean?

where is the best place to stay with young children at Disney World?

Question by JazzyKat: where is the best place to stay with young children at Disney World?
We have 2 children aged 3 and 5… I would like to book a vacation to disney (florida)
Where would be the best place for children that age to stay?
I’m not interested in cheap budget hotels, I’d like something nice and fun for the children.
We have never been to disneyland or disney world so I would appreciate any input…

thank you

Stay inside Disney. You can get into the parks before official opening, make reservations to eat with the characters, and go back to the room for an afternoon nap and then go out again for the evening.
Look at the Disney web site as to which hotel you think would be best for you.
The last time I was there we stayed at the Contemporary, the monorail goes through the lobby, you can sit up front with the driver.
It is also close enough you can walk to and from the Magic Kingdom.
They have package deals so you can get passes, and your room together.

Question by catnip: Might be moving to Japan (Camp Zama – military) in early 2010. What should I expect?
I’ve read now that Camp Zama is about 25 miles outside of Tokyo. Is it still a really congested area over-flowing with people? Is there housing available on base? What about my dog? Will I have to leave him in the USA? Do many people speak english? Any classes available on base to learn the Japanese language? Confused :/

safe solutions for getting rid of fleas?

Question by sexymommyof3: safe solutions for getting rid of fleas?
I am in a late-model mobile home with NO indoor pets, on 40 acres. We have somehow gotten fleas. perhaps carried in from outdoors, whatever. I have an 8 year-old son, 5-year-old daughter, and new 5 month-old daughter. I am VERY reluctant to use poison. Any homeopathic/natural remedy for ridding our house of these pesky ankle-biters?

Question by Casper: Converting from inside to outside dogs. Opinions on the best way to do this?
I have a great pyrenese/lab mix, and two boston terriers. We were living in a mobile home park, the dogs were not allowed to be outside unless on a leash with me. We just bought a home with a backyard, I really want to be able to let them stay outside during the day, but they are not used to it. Can anyone give me ideas as to the best way to get them used to it?

I would recommend cabling them for awhile so they do not run away.. let them be on the cable while you are there so they know that it is okay…
